Getting ready for a daddy daughters date today with my girls while my
wife visits one of her good friends and has a day to herself. This is

thankful today
spent the morning today before work sitting in the town center reading
scripture and praying. i am continually in awe of the fact that God
has planted us here in our community. I admit that often I feel like
we aren't up to the task of reaching this place...but I was reminded
again today that it is not up to me. I simply need to be passionate
about Jesus and the gospel...go out in obedience and He'll take care
of the rest.

Sunday Thoughts
- I'm glad for a Sunday with beautiful weather finally!
- Looking forward to a picnic and prayer time with some of the peeps from church tonight at the Town Center.
- Struck me this week that true love for a place and a people can only be found by investing time in that place and with those people. This is an essential, but oft neglected part of the missionary task of the local church.
- My family was blessed anonymously recently...few things bring me as much joy as sharing with my kids how God provides for us through the care of others, and actually does answer our prayers. Loved hearing my daughter thank Jesus for His provision today.
- Didn't feel like I knocked it out of the park with my message today, but I had several people comment that the service as a whole went really well. I was reminded that my part in Sunday morning, while important as it is the preaching of the word, is just a part. And that part that I play isn't dependent on me...but rather on the power of the Holy Spirit speaking through me.
- We had a hole in our trailer pulling schedule for the church. This always stresses me out because it is such a specialized need that requires a large vehicle...you can't train someone to have a class 3 trailer hitch...they just have to have one. We have been praying for God to bring us another person, and this week was the first week of our newest team member. Incredible...
- Had a great discussion with our leadership guys this week about the biblical roles of elders and deacons. They seemed really excited about the stuff we were discussing, and it was exciting for me to see clarity on this subject arising in our discussion.
- Time for an afternoon nap. :)

my Saturday morning
been in line for almost an hour now waiting for a state inspection on
my car. thankfully it gave me time to figure out how to mobile blog! :)
