've got extremely dry skin - which brings me lots of issues particularly in the wintertime. But the one part of me that can't seem to get enough moisture the whole year round is my lips. I carry a tube of chapstick in my pocket pretty much at all times. I have tried a plethora of brands - run the gamut from plain old chapstick to organic brands, medicated varieties and more.
My absolute all time preference to date is Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. It works great with really natural ingredients - including peppermint oil and rosemary extract, which means that seconds after application it feels like you've had your lips wrapped around a candy-cane (minus the excessive sweetness). I'm totally hooked on the cool tingle - my lips feel refreshed and cared for, and the peppermint is a natural pick-me-up for the senses.
You can get it in the tube or a little round tin... and Burt's Bees also makes other great varieties like a lifeguard stick to protect your delicate lips from sunburn while you bathe at the pool or the beach in the summer, and lip shimmers in a variety of colors ranging from subtle and sheer to down right shocking. I've pretty much hooked my husband and a bunch of other friends and family on the Bees' balm - it's great stuff, so don't forget to ask Santa to put a little tube in your stocking this month.
