Frequently Maddie, not quite 3 years old, is a handful, but underneath her fight for control and independence, there is also a layer of sweetness that just can't be beat. Because I'm her mom, I'm going to claim my bragging rights for a minute just to garner a few great big "awwwwww" sounds.
This morning in the car, Hope asked "Mommy where do your Grandma and Grandpa live?" and I told her
that they weren't alive anymore. After a few more minutes of conversation about where their house used to be, Maddie who had been completely silent finally broke in with:
"Mommy, it's okay if your grandma and grandpa aren't alive anymore, you can share mine."
Last night, well after the kids had been tucked in, Maddie was still not asleep. I was anxious for her to settle down, so I wasn't really enthusiastic when she called for me because she wanted to "tell me something." When I got there, she told me that she thought that some people wore clothes to bed because they didn't have pajamas and since she had two pairs of Christmas jammies (she was wearing one of them), she wanted to give a pair away to someone who might need them.
All together now...Awwwwww!
