We've been to Chao Phra Ya only once. It was not at all fancy for the lunch we had. I can't say it was very good. My Thai babysitter at the time recommended it, but I think places like Busara and Sakoontra in Fairfax were better. I may have just had a bad dish that one time, though. In the nicer weather, I'd recommend Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Both my kids love it there. It's cheap and fun to run around. This area is totally lacking in indoor playgrounds though.

We also like Big Bowl in RTC for Thai food. It's nice since it's not strictly Thai (other asian dishes offered) ...if you have less adventurous little eaters. Prices aren't too bad, and definitely not fancy.

I'm a fan of Thai Luang in Herndon... It's always crowded, which must mean others think it's good too :)

For anyone out there reading this comment who hasn't been to Clemyjontri park in McLean, GO GO GO!! I took Tricia's advice and spent an afternoon there with my daugther and it was wonderful. There are so many options and things to play on. I would recommend this park to EVERYONE with children!!! We can't wait until next spring when they open the carousel.
