I talked with my mom about this, as Rob's family is primarily boys. Rob is one of seven kids, six boys, and of the ten grandkids so far, eight are boys. My mom has a masters in Biology, and she said that none of the theories about positioning, timing, etc, have been proved, and that really, every time, it's a 50/50 shot. No matter what. And while in small cases, just as with flipping a coin, there may be lots of one or the other, as a whole (as in, the world) it still ends up being very close to 50/50. All I kept thinking about while she told me this was punnett squares... :)
