Linda

This has been on my mind a lot lately. Those who have never seen this kind of poverty cannot imagine. No matter how much we think we don't have, we have to remember that we all have more many, many people in many places around the world.

I remember reading about the riots in Egypt over bread. The bread there is subsidized and costs a few cents for a few loaves, but there just isn't enough to go around. I think one of the things you can teach kids is about waste. Kids who don't have don't waste. They don't cut off the crusts of their bread. They eat what they are given. We try to remember this by reducing our own waste and eat what is given to us--everything.
