I was wondering if you knew of any signing classes in the area - I have a one year old and he is really into it and finally at an age where he can interact a bit. Thanks for any advice!"

Dear Jess,
Unfortunately, I am not immediately aware of any good recommendations for you. I know that at one time At Play Cafe in the Hunters Woods shopping center offered a class. I think that it might be a good idea to check in at the Reston and/or Herndon community centers as well. I hope that my readers might be able to you out too! So, readers, comment away please!
Hi to Jess & 1yr old...I just enrolled my little one for a signing class at Reston community ctr, you should see if this works for you too...hope you find a class you like...good luck with your signing w/baby! I can't wait to learn how to sign w/my little girl!! Cat

we took baby signs with dana in loudoun when my daughter was little. We were at hte point where any activity took us a half day, so the distance didn't matter. Our class happened to be at the ashburn library. Many of their classes run through loudoun parks, so if you're not a loudoun resident, talk to dana directly so you don't get hit with the non resident surcharge. http://babysignsbydana.com/ it's not ASL, but is a very social class wtih lots of hands on manipulatives. She occasionally does single "meet bebo" workshops at herndon library

Hello,
We used the one at RCC and loved it. She is 15 months and uses her signs everyday. The teacher is kind and patient.
