my husband, MATT
What can I say? I somehow managed to snag one of the best guys on this planet - He is my perfect fit! Matt is the pastor of Reston Community Church, a rockin' guitarist and singer, a worthy Scrabble opponent, a techie, a wealth of wisdom, merciful to a fault, a fantastic father, a good shopper, an amazing husband, humorous, the best hamburger chef, a loyal friend, an all-around great guy, so cute, and my love.
MYSELF
Music teacher turned home-schooler, the majority of my adventures these days surround life as a wife and mother of four. I lose myself in anything that requires a bit of creativity - writing, sewing, crafting, cooking, teaching. I love to read, watch science/nature/history documentaries and especially those shows about aliens, bigfoot, the loch-ness monster, etc... I love the colors pink and green, intense dark chocolate, surprises, a good mystery, and Jesus.
HOPE
My six year old who has all of the stereo-typical bossiness and take-charge attitude of a first child. She got up on her feet to walk at nine months - way before it was safe for her less-than-graceful approach to life, and has never looked back moving all the time at break-neck speed and stopping only to fall out of her chair, trip over her own feet, and run into walls over and over again. She started talking even sooner, and if there has been a pause since I'm not aware of it. She has never been good at hiding her very black-and-white emotions, is overly-intense, and quite dramatic. She started to read at 3, loves anything pink and girly, and tells tremendous stories. She challenges me every day.
MADELINE (MADDIE)
My super sweet and cuddly 4 year old - Maddie has always taken her time with everything. Slow to wake up and fall asleep, late to crawl and walk, she's less interested in personal progression and much more of a people person than her older sister. However, she is always quick to make us laugh. She is super cute and expressive and always enthusiastic. She adores Hope and Ami. She has a huge sweet tooth and often requests "something sugary." While Dad, Mom, and Hope all have hazel eyes - Maddie's are a bright blue and perfect smattering of freckles graces her ivory-skinned face.
AMELIA (AMI)
My daring 1 yr. old - she has never had trouble keeping up with her sisters. She is not fearful and is known to walk straight up to large dogs, leap off the side of the pool, and tackle the playground equipment and slides with no help from mommy or daddy. She gets the prize for baby kisses, having learned the perfect pucker very early. She knows what she wants and how to get you to understand her - she even knows how to turn on mommy's iphone and slide the unlock even though no one taught her how. She is happy and smiley and just a tiny bit possessive.
SHEPHERD
The newest member of our family, born Nov. 8, 2010, is a BOY! This breaks new ground for us. We are just beginning to learn who our son is, but we are so grateful that he is ours. He completes our family in a very special way. Thus far, he has been a wonderfully pleasant baby - not to mention super cute. Born with a ton of super dark hair just like all his sisters, we are convinced that in a year you'll see a brand new set of blond locks and by that time we will have learned to change his diaper without getting hosed down.
Beautiful babys Tricia!
